Yuichiro Miura, 80-year-old Japanese reach the summit of Mount Everest today

“If you wish strongly, have courage and endurance, then you can get to the summit of your dream,” said Miura. We should all remind that each and every morning

That’s the third time Yuichiro Miura climbed to the summit of Mt Everest 8,848 meter (29,035 ft) mountain in 2003 and 2008 and today Thursday May 23 around 9:00AM . He has also skied down Everest from an altitude of 8,000 meters (26,246 ft) in 1970.

Miura said by satellite phone from the summit.

“I feel like the happiest person in the world. How could I have come so far at the world’s oldest age of 80?”
“I have never felt like this in my life. But I’ve never been more exhausted than this.”
“I can see the scenery of the Himalayas below me. I really thank every one of you for your support.”

Miura has since skied down the highest mountains on each of the seven continents, following the tradition of his late father Keizo, who skied down Europe’s Mont Blanc at the age of 99.

He trained for the Everest climb by hiking in Tokyo with weighted packs and working out on a treadmill in a special low-oxygen room in his home.

In 2014 we should see him again under the Guinness World Records.
